Andaman is a magical and acclaimed beach destination. However, the Islands being a part of India are greatly influenced by conservative and respectful culture. The locals though used to seeing women in revealing swim wear, it is best that you cover up suitably when away from the beach; especially in areas where locals are present such as the ferries, jetty areas and village markets. Carry kaftans and beach cover-ups if you're going to the beach, as there may not be a designated place to change. While appreciating that may foreign tourists prefer to dress in light, transparent clothes to cope with the sultry weather, however when moving around the town it is advisable that lady guests keep their modesty covered. Men can wear shorts and tees and children can wear pretty much anything they want
These islands inhabit endless marine cultures, but the most famous of them all are sea turtles. Dermocheleys Coriacea, the largest sea turtles in the world nest here. They are huge in size and thousands of them flock to the Andamans every year. Additionally, even the Olive Ridely turtles come to the Andamans and use it as their nesting ground.
To plan a trip to the islands, you will have to note down various key aspects that will be required for you to understand what is best for your trip. Please note that the Andaman is not like a city in mainland India where you just reach and then all things get done after your arrival.
